Techtouch Co., Ltd. conducted a "Survey on the Actual Status and Challenges of Integrating Generative AI into Business Operations," targeting 319 individuals, including those responsible for the utilization and promotion of generative AI in companies with 1,000 or more employees.
The survey results revealed that even in business processes where generative AI has become most established, 71.5% of users utilize it from a screen separate from their business system. Among those, 30.4% engage in a workflow of opening an external AI screen and manually performing copy-and-paste operations. On the other hand, the percentage of those able to use AI directly within their business system screens remained at 20.6%.
Regarding usage scenarios, "Information gathering and research" (83.7%) and "Creation and editing of documents and materials" (81.8%) were the most common. These are tasks that can easily be completed on a chat-style interface, and there is a trend toward their increasing integration.
As for challenges in utilization, the most common response was "Differences in understanding and proficiency in usage" at 48.3%, followed by "Concerns regarding information leakage and handling of confidential information (security)" at 33.5%.
As for future initiatives, 48.0% of respondents stated they want to prioritize "making AI usable within their usual business systems," indicating a shift in focus from initial implementation to integration into business processes.
