The update enhances several key areas of the routing process. The AI now provides cleaner power distribution by avoiding broken return paths and isolating power rails from noisy elements. It also demonstrates better performance in managing high-speed signal paths, such as MIPI-CSI interfaces, by maintaining proper layer separation to preserve signal integrity.
Technical improvements include a reduction in unnecessary layer transitions and more predictable via placement. These changes are designed to produce layouts that are easier to review and move toward manufacturing. The system also becomes more efficient in its search process, recognizing when a layout has reached a point of diminishing returns to avoid wasting AI credits.
The updated model supports both two-layer and four-layer designs. While simple two-layer boards can be routed in minutes, the system is optimized to handle more complex tasks, such as high-speed interfaces and dense component placements, more predictably. For the best results, the tool recommends that users manually route the most sensitive nets and define clear constraints before initiating the AI Auto-Layout process.
