Meta to Launch "Muse Charm" AI Wearable by December with 5G and Inter-device Interaction
The handheld device will include a built-in 5G modem, allowing users to interact with the Muse AI agent without a Wi-Fi connection, according to Bloomberg. It is expected to feature a 2-inch OLED touchscreen, a fingerprint sensor, a new operating system, and integrated cameras for visual environment awareness. The gadget will also include built-in speakers, microphones, and a USB-C charging port.
Reports indicate that the Muse Charm will be able to recognize and interact with other nearby Charms upon release. While Meta has not confirmed official pricing, sources suggest the device may cost as much as a smartwatch. Users can set up and manage the device through the Muse app on iOS or Android.
The Muse AI agent, which is also expected to be integrated into Meta's smart glasses, features a mascot named "Jolly." The mascot's "cute" design has prompted reflections on whether it might make users more comfortable sharing personal information, such as health or relationship data, with the AI.
