JetBrains announced on August 31, 2026, the launch of 'Junie Local,' a local AI coding agent for Mac. As the name suggests, Junie Local is designed to run entirely on local machines, with JetBrains stating that no API or model usage fees are required. Regarding performance, the company claims it offers capabilities equivalent to Claude Sonnet 4.5. Additionally, JetBrains announced that support for RTX 5909 is currently under development.
