Microsoft has officially unveiled its redesigned Copilot app, a "super app" that merges AI chat, coding, and autonomous agents into a single interface. The app is organized into three primary tabs: Home, Code, and Autopilot.

Microsoft Unveils Redesigned Copilot "Super App" Bundling Chat, Code, and Agents
The Home tab combines Copilot Chat with Cowork, serving as a personalized dashboard that provides suggestions and summarizes recent activities, such as emails, meeting requests, and Teams threads.
The newly added Code tab allows users to create and share cloud-hosted internal apps, trackers, or dashboards. Microsoft stated that this feature is powered by the same technology as GitHub Copilot and runs in a sandboxed environment within the user's tenant to ensure security.
The Autopilot tab introduces a new class of AI agents. Previously known as Scout, Autopilot is described by Microsoft as a "digital teammate" that operates in the cloud, allowing it to perform tasks like monitoring Teams channels or handling recurring work even when the user is offline. Microsoft emphasized that Autopilot is enterprise-grade, possessing its own identity, memory, and workspace within the organization's tenant.
To manage the costs associated with these advanced capabilities, Microsoft is introducing usage-based billing for the Cowork, Code, and Autopilot components. This allows businesses to pay based on the actual consumption of models and agentic tasks.
The Home and Code tabs will begin rolling out to Microsoft’s Frontier program in the coming weeks. Autopilot is scheduled for a private preview later this month, while the Code tab will be available to Microsoft 365 Premium and Pro subscribers later this year.
