Google Integrates Gemini into Earth AI and Expands Regional Access

This feature can simultaneously identify vulnerable communities and at-risk infrastructure during disasters. It is reported that the non-profit organization GiveDirectly will utilize this to identify people in priority need of assistance by combining flood and population density information.

Additionally, new Earth AI models have been introduced into the Gemini features within Google Earth. This functionality enables the instantaneous discovery of objects and patterns from satellite imagery. Examples of use cases include the early detection of water pollution and algal blooms to predict impacts on water supply systems.

These experimental features will be available to Google Earth Professional users in the United States within a few weeks. Furthermore, Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the U.S. can now access Gemini features with higher limit settings.

On Google Cloud, the Imagery, Population, and Environment models of Earth AI have been made available directly to Trusted Testers. Companies can combine their own data with these models and datasets to address challenges ranging from environmental monitoring to disaster response. Google stated that pilot operations have already begun with thousands of organizations.
