Perplexity, an AI-powered answer engine provider, has announced that it is utilizing OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra for software modifications, communication creation, and production system monitoring. The company stated that the implementation of this model has enabled checks to be performed with less frequency than before.
Johnny Ho, Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of Perplexity, said that the improvement in the model's coding capabilities directly leads to enhancements in web and internal information retrieval, as well as the ability to provide concise information summaries.
Furthermore, he cited code testing as one of the most useful applications of AI. Given the limited time available for manual testing, the company has adopted a method where GPT-6 Astra constructs small test programs surrounding applications. Since this model can generate realistic responses similar to those returned by language model APIs and connectors, it enables end-to-end verification of application behavior and workflows within environments that simulate such responses.
