Williams addressed a "supposedly 'private video'" circulating online, stating that the content is "clearly AI" and criticized the quality, describing the synthesized voice as "robotic and terrible." She urged fans to stop using the late actor's likeness as a "puppet" for AI recreations.
This follows similar pleas from Williams, who in October 2025 requested via Instagram that people stop sending her AI-generated videos of her father. To combat the ongoing use of his voice and likeness in AI-augmented content, she recently revived Williams' official Instagram account alongside her siblings.
Robin Williams, known for films such as Good Will Hunting and Mrs. Doubtfire, passed away in 2014. In recent years, his likeness has frequently been targeted by users creating and sharing AI-recreated videos.
