YouTube Announces AI-Powered Custom Feeds and New Creator Tools at Made on YouTube

At the Made on YouTube event, Google announced a suite of new features designed to leverage AI for both viewers and creators. A key update for viewers is the introduction of "Custom Feeds," which allows users to create personalized homepage tabs using conversational prompts. Users can specify interests—such as "Witty podcasts for my daily commute"—to automatically populate a feed, with the ability to save multiple custom configurations.

For creators, YouTube is expanding its AI toolkit to simplify production and management. A new conversational editing feature, powered by Gemini, is coming to the YouTube Create app and Shorts, allowing creators to refine edits through dialogue. Additionally, "Ask Studio" will assist with recommendations for pacing, framing, and generating AI-powered thumbnails. To optimize engagement, YouTube Studio will now support A/B testing for up to three different video cuts.

YouTube is also addressing global accessibility and community interaction. Starting early next year, the platform will support real-time autodubbing for live streams, enabling creators to reach international audiences in their preferred languages. For live creators, "Live Showdown" will introduce interactive audience experiences through merged streams and competitive leaderboards. Furthermore, the platform is enhancing creator protection with upcoming likeness and voice detection tools to safeguard personal brands.
