The results of the survey showed that many young people in their 10s perceive AI not as a means to avoid learning, but as an interactive learning partner to deepen their understanding. Of the young people who responded that they had used AI within the past year, 74 percent of 94 percent responded that they "use it as an interactive learning partner to unravel complex topics and generate new ideas." Specific use cases included researching homework (61 percent), exploring answers to daily questions (52 percent), and spell checking and text editing (51 percent).
Additionally, it was reported that AI is serving as a tool to promote creative exploration. 74 percent of the young people who participated in the survey responded that they were able to discover new interests or skills through AI tools.
On the other hand, the necessity for digital literacy education has also been highlighted. 64 percent of young people responded that classes on digital literacy and responsibility should begin by the 5th grade, pointing to a situation where current school curricula are not meeting this need.
In terms of safety, regarding serious concerns online, 8 percent of young people responded that they are highly likely to consult with parents or guardians, indicating that families serve as an important foundation for ensuring digital safety.
