On September 29, 2026, Fujisoft announced its smart factory business strategy based on the group's new management structure, "Fujisoft Gen.2." To support digital transformation (DX) in the manufacturing industry, the company plans to deploy an approach that drives onsite operations through digital threads and physical AI while utilizing existing equipment, aiming for over 10% growth in this business.

As a fundamental concept for realizing smart factories, the company defines the roles of information in three stages: "AI that connects," "AI that utilizes," and "AI that moves." They will build a data foundation that links fragmented design information, manufacturing data, quality, and maintenance history through digital threads, connecting them to onsite operations.

Fujisoft CEO Mitsuhiro Muraoka cited labor shortages, difficulties in skill succession, aging equipment, and increasing supply chain complexity as challenges facing the Japanese manufacturing industry. He pointed out that currently, less than 5% of companies have data integration between departments, and stated the necessity for transformation aimed at improving the competitiveness of the entire company, rather than just improving individual factories.

By combining its long-standing development expertise in embedded and control domains with the design and simulation technology of its group company, Cybernet Systems, Fujisoft aims to optimize the entire value chain. Furthermore, the company's fundamental philosophy is to "evolve factories without stopping them" by making use of existing equipment currently in operation.
