On September 10, KOWRO, an AI venture company specializing in AI character chat and other services, posted a video on social media showing a candidate who appeared to be using AI during an online interview.
According to a report by ITmedia AI+, the video captures instances where the candidate misread the company name as "COLO-san" and showed a lack of synchronization between their speech and lip movements. When Yuji Harada, CEO of KOWRO, asked about potential communication lag, the candidate responded, "I am not using AI." However, CEO Harada became convinced that AI was being used due to the unnatural flow of the conversation and terminated the interview.
KOWRO was established in April 2026. In releasing the video, the company emphasized the importance of interviews conducted by humans.
