Visualization Intermediate Language Flint Released for AI Agents, Rendering 50 Chart Types via Vega-Lite and Others

When having an AI generate graphs, a common challenge is that the specifications become excessively long if the AI must describe not only the data but also fine details such as axis ranges, labels, margins, and color schemes. To address this issue, "Flint" has been released—a visualization intermediate language that enables AI agents to reliably generate expressive and visually appealing graphs from simple chart specification descriptions that are easy for humans to understand. Specifically, it is a system where the user concisely specifies only what the data represents (e.g., "year/month," "profit," "rank") and the desired chart type, leaving the detailed display settings to the compiler. Flint supports 50 types of charts and can be rendered using Vega-Lite, ECharts, and Chart.js. Additionally, it is equipped with an MCP server.
