Experts have pointed out that this is "extremely dangerous" and stated that it is the exact opposite of the dietary guidance that should be recommended. It is reported that following this advice could risk patients failing to maintain sufficient caloric intake and the physical strength required to endure chemotherapy or surgery.

Additionally, in searches regarding the numerical ranges of liver function tests, it is reported that ambiguous information was presented without considering factors such as country, gender, or age. The CEO of the British Liver Trust stated that this misinformation is serious given the characteristic of liver disease to progress without noticeable symptoms. Furthermore, it has been pointed out that information described as "completely wrong" was provided in searches regarding cancer screenings for women, which could lead to missing actual symptoms.

A Google spokesperson explained that many of the shared health-related examples were "incomplete screenshots," and stated that within the scope of what could be verified, the system recommends consulting a professional based on reliable sources. On the other hand, the director of the Patient Information Forum stated that AI Overviews are posing a risk to people's health by displaying inaccurate health information at the top of search results.
