Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Invests 10 Billion Yen in PFN to Strengthen Joint Development of AI for Infrastructure and Security

The two companies will promote joint research and development of cutting-edge AI technologies aimed at the intelligence and autonomy of machines and systems in mission-critical domains—such as social infrastructure and national security—where high reliability and responsiveness are required. By combining Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' expertise and technology in social infrastructure, aviation, defense, and space with PFN's technological foundations, including AI semiconductors, computing infrastructure, and foundation models, the collaboration will enter a full-scale phase.

The background of this move includes challenges such as changing international circumstances, labor shortages, and the aging of social infrastructure.
