Universal Robots announced on September 14, 2026, that it is launching a new collaborative robot platform designed to support physical AI. The new platform includes the UR Series, which is expected to feature onboard GPU integration by late 2027 to enhance AI-driven tasks.

The new platform features PolyScope X, an updated control system intended to facilitate easier programming and higher productivity. The UR Series includes various models with different payload capacities and reach lengths, such as the UR10g (10kg payload, 1750mm reach), the UR17g (17kg payload, 1300mm reach), and the UR18g (18kg payload, 950mm reach).

The hardware supports high-speed communication via 1GbE and provides multiple I/O ports, including USB 3.0 Type-A and Type-C. The control box is designed with an IP54 rating for environmental protection and includes a built-in PC with integrated hardware to support advanced computing requirements.
