SpaceX revealed in a report that it signed a contract with Google just days before its scheduled IPO. The company is expected to generate $920 million in monthly revenue through the provision of AI computing resources.
According to regulatory filings, Google will utilize approximately 110,000 Nvidia GPUs and CPUs located in SpaceX's data centers. The contract period runs from October 2026 to June 2029, with capacity planned to expand gradually while discounted rates are applied until September.
According to a Google representative, this agreement is intended to meet the surging customer demand for the agent platform "Gemini Enterprise." The company introduced Gemini Enterprise as a subscription service for large enterprises in October of this year.
SpaceX merged with Elon Musk's AI company, xAI, in February, with the post-merger valuation reaching $1.25 trillion. This agreement marks the second large-scale infrastructure deal announced following the merger. Last month, Anthropic announced a contract to utilize the full computing capacity of the Colossus 1 data center in Memphis.
In its IPO prospectus, SpaceX stated that its first-quarter capital expenditures reached $10.1 billion, more than double the amount from the same period last year. Of that, $7.7 billion was allocated to AI-related initiatives. Meanwhile, the AI division reported an operating loss of $2.5 billion against revenues of $818 million.
Musk has claimed that the Grok model will compete with rivals such as OpenAI and Anthropic, but its market share remains limited. The company is also facing lawsuits and investigations regarding deepfake issues involving Grok.
Google has been significantly increasing its AI spending, revising its capital expenditure forecast for this year upward to between $180 billion and $190 billion. Alphabet has also indicated plans to sell $85 billion worth of shares.
