OpenAI and Grab have launched a regional skilling program called "GO Forward with AI" to provide practical AI skills to 30,000 Grab driver, delivery, and merchant partners across Southeast Asia. The initiative aims to help these partners use AI tools, such as ChatGPT, to support their work and business decisions.

The program begins in Singapore and is scheduled to expand to Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines later this year. Malaysia and Vietnam are expected to join the program in 2027. Participants will attend half-day, in-person workshops based on the OpenAI Academy curriculum, which are adapted to meet local needs. The training covers tasks such as using ChatGPT to explore business ideas, analyzing sales patterns, and utilizing ChatGPT Work for complex tasks like creating dashboards or websites.
The collaboration builds on existing AI integration between the companies, such as the Driver AI Assistant powered by OpenAI models, which has reached nearly 500,000 drivers. According to a Grab survey conducted in Singapore, half of the driver and delivery partners already use AI tools, and 87% of those who do not expressed openness to trying them.
