Anker has announced MindBase, an AI-powered local home hub designed to serve as the core of a smart home.
A key feature of this product is its proprietary AI processing capability. By adopting "local AI," which performs AI processing on the device rather than in the cloud, Anker states that it can alleviate privacy concerns regarding smart home operations.
In addition to approximately 100 existing Anker products, MindBase is compatible with platforms such as Matter 1.5, Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Home Assistant.
Regarding security, the device integrates with Anker's home security camera products to evaluate events in real-time on the device. Depending on the assessed risk, actions such as changing lighting, providing verbal warnings, or implementing measures known as active deterrence are taken.
Connectable devices include up to 16 wireless cameras, 4 wired cameras, and 34 sensors.
As for storage, the unit comes equipped with a 64GB SSD. Furthermore, it can accommodate up to two 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch HDDs/SSDs, allowing for expansion up to 48TB. In addition to saving recorded data, it also functions as Network Attached Storage (NAS), enabling users to search for files such as photos and videos using natural language.
The release date and price for MindBase have not been disclosed. Additionally, Anker announced that it will discontinue its sub-brands, Eufy and Soundcore, and consolidate everything under the "Anker" brand.
