Logan Kirkpatrick, an engineer at Google DeepMind, has countered claims made by AI researcher Ethan Mollick, who suggested that Google is missing opportunities to contribute to the fields of mathematics and security.

Regarding the cybersecurity AI model "Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber" announced by Google on September 3, Kirkpatrick stated that it possesses superior capabilities compared to Anthropic's "Claude Mythos 5" across many cyber defense benchmarks and real-world use cases. Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber is reported to demonstrate high performance in vulnerability detection and automated patching, with Kirkpatrick asserting its dominance in benchmarks such as "CyberGym."

Additionally, during the conversation, Kirkpatrick expressed the view that the next-generation model, "Gemini 4," will push the boundaries of state-of-the-art technology in the cyber domain.
