Meta has announced "Muse," a personal AI agent aimed at assisting with daily tasks and projects. According to the company, Muse operates autonomously by navigating browsers and filling out forms on behalf of the user for tasks such as online shopping, sending emails, and planning trips. For long-running tasks, the company stated that Muse will continue processing in the background even after the app is closed, notifying the user when approval is required.

Muse is scheduled to be available in the United States via iOS, Android, and a website (muse.ai), with plans to expand to AI-powered glasses. While basic features will be available for free, the company stated that a paid subscription will be offered for access to more advanced capabilities. Specific pricing for the paid plan and limitations of the free version have not been disclosed.

Regarding privacy protections, Meta stated that Muse includes features allowing users to opt out of having their interactions used for AI model training, as well as the ability to instruct the agent to "forget" specific learned information. Additionally, the company reported that for data protection, the agent operates on virtual computers in the cloud and employs a system that prevents access to passwords and payment information.
