On September 10 (local time), OpenAI announced "ChatGPT for Financial Services," a new product for financial institutions. A tailored version of its corporate service "ChatGPT Work," the product combines the inference capabilities of the latest "GPT-6 Astra" model with built-in premium financial data to support research, financial modeling, and the creation of client materials.
The product integrates datasets from providers such as Daloopa, PitchBook, and LSEG News. Covering earnings call transcripts, financial statements, and information on private companies, it supports citations that allow users to trace numbers and descriptions back to the original tables and text.
Additionally, the system includes mechanisms for automatic access to existing contract data from providers like S&P Capital IQ and Moody's, as well as MCP (Model Context Protocol) connectors with over 50 varieties available.
Development is proceeding with Morgan Stanley and Evercore as design partners, initially targeting investment banking and equity research. OpenAI reported that it plans to consider expanding into other financial sectors in the future.
Regarding security, the specifications ensure that corporate data is not used for model training by default, and the product supports SAML SSO and role-based access control.
OpenAI stated that the integrated "GPT-6 Astra" recorded a score of 69.9% on "OfficeQA Pro"—a benchmark that measures analysis capabilities using U.S. Treasury statistical data—surpassing the previous "GPT-5.6 Sol."
