AI company Anthropic has reportedly entered into contracts to secure approximately $517 billion worth of computing capacity over the past 11 months.

According to a report by The Information, the company has signed contracts for 14.8 GW of computing capacity to be used over the coming years since October of last year. Of the secured capacity, Google and Amazon Web Services (AWS) are expected to provide a combined 11 GW of computing power.

The company has entered into extensive agreements with various cloud and data center providers to secure computing capacity. These include a $45 billion contract with Nscale, a $200 billion agreement with Google for the use of TPUs (Tensor Processing Units), and the use of large-scale clusters utilizing AWS Trainium chips.

Additionally, while briefings for investors stated that approximately $180 billion would be spent on server rental costs by 2029, this analysis indicates that the total contract value has reached $517 billion, suggesting the possibility of undisclosed agreements.
