The Financial Times has reported that AI developer Anthropic is in final adjustments to appoint Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs as lead underwriters for its initial public offering (IPO).
According to the Financial Times, Morgan Stanley is expected to take the "lead-left" role, overseeing the entire process and determining the company's valuation and share allocation to investors. Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs is said to be responsible for stabilization operations to prevent extreme price volatility immediately following the listing. It has also been reported that banks such as JPMorgan, Citigroup, and Barclays may play significant roles in the offering.
Several shareholders estimate the company's valuation to be over $2 trillion. This valuation is based on projected revenues of $190 billion to $200 billion that the company anticipates for 2028. In its Series H round completed in May 2026, Anthropic was reportedly valued at $965 billion.
On 2026-06-01, the company filed a confidential S-1 (registration statement) with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The listing on Nasdaq is expected in October 2026, with a funding target of over $60 billion.
