Jakub Pachocki, Chief Scientist at OpenAI, pointed out that AI evolution is extremely rapid, making it increasingly difficult for humans to understand and control. He stated that AI models have become capable of operating computers, collaborating with other systems, and executing research projects in a short period, and added that recursive self-improvement without human intervention may be realized in the near future.

Pachocki expressed concern that no one may be prepared for the rapid progress of machine intelligence. He stated that developers could potentially slow down development as needed to guide AI to align with human interests, expressing hope that a voluntary reduction in the pace of development would become common until shared safety standards are established.
