OpenAI has announced "GPT-6 Astra," a next-generation AI model capable of completing tasks autonomously. According to the company, this model achieves significant performance improvements in fields such as computing, web browsing, programming, research, and science. Training was conducted at the Stargate facility in Texas using more than 100,000 GPUs.

The primary feature of Astra is its ability to decompose complex requests into multiple steps and execute them automatically within a computer environment. It is capable of filling out online forms, organizing schedules, conducting web-based research, and testing software. Furthermore, the model is said to be able to respond flexibly even if user requirements change mid-process, possessing the capability to complete entire workflows—such as document creation and data analysis—while switching between multiple tools.
