On June 6, SpaceX revealed through regulatory filings that it has entered into an agreement to supply AI computing resources to Google. Under the contract, SpaceX will provide Google with approximately 110,000 NVIDIA GPUs, as well as CPUs, memory, and other components installed in SpaceX data centers, from October 2026 to June 2029 at a monthly cost of $920 million. The contract includes a clause to gradually increase capacity at a reduced rate until September; if the agreed-upon number of GPUs is not provided by September 30, Google may terminate the contract immediately.
A Google Cloud representative explained that the agreement is intended to "secure bridge capacity because customer demand for the agent platform Gemini Enterprise has exceeded expectations." Gemini Enterprise was introduced in October as a subscription for large enterprises.
SpaceX merged with Elon Musk's AI company, xAI, in February of this year, and the merged entity is valued at $1.25 trillion. This marks the second major infrastructure deal following Anthropic's announcement last month of a contract to use all computing resources at the Colossus 1 data center in Memphis. SpaceX is scheduled to launch an IPO next week with a market capitalization exceeding $1.75 trillion.
